जल जीवन मिशन परिचय
Government of India has restructured and subsumed the ongoing National Rural Drinking Water Programme(NRDWP) into Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household i.e., Har Ghar Nal Se Jal (HGNSJ) by 2024. The goal of JJM is to provide functional household tap connection to every household with service level at the rate of 55 litres per capita per day (lpcd). Government of Rajasthan and GOI would share the project cost in 50:50 ratio
Salient Features Of Jal Jeevan Mission :
- In next 5 years up to 2024, every rural household to be provided a Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC). In Rajasthan state it is targeted to increase FHTC from 11.49 lacs to 92.84 lacs upto 2024.
- States to constitute SWSM for implementation of JJM
- Service level of 55 LPCD in Rural areas with special emphasis on quality affected villages/habitations
- Mandatory community contribution @ 10% of in-village works
- Capacity building of villagers to finance and manage O & M of village infrastructure with active community participation
- Monitoring and fund flow through SWSM
- Mandatory third party inspection for all components and delivery outcomes
- 5% of annual allocation for Support & WQMS
- 10% of Capital cost for “ in village infrastructure” has to be borne by the community
- All assets to be geo tagged and FHTCs to be linked with Aadhar
- Community to manage grey water
- Works of rain water harvesting, ground water re-charging and re-use of treated waste water to be done through MNAREGA, Central Finance Commission, State Finance Commission & Panchayati Raj
